New hams in Brownsburg

11 new amateurs were licensed on January 21st by the Indiana Elmer Network VE Team.   The IEN VE Team is a Laurel Affiliated group and tests for free. Gordon Cotton KD0EWM taught a class at the LDS church in Brownsburg Indiana and the result was 11 new Amateur radio operators cor Hendricks County.   John B KD9ECH reports more on this event

Troop 97 Digital Station at Ransberg

The long trek was made to Ransberg scout camp to expose the scouts to the digital HF world. I arrived about noon and the setup of the antennas began. IEN VE Teams test session to be hosted at Aviation Institute of Maintenance

The Laurel VE Teams will now be setup for testing on the Third Thursday of each month starting in January of 2017. Jason N9IMU help gain permission to use the facility for Classes and Amateur Radio testing. The classrooms are located at 7251 West McCarty Street in Indianapolis. KC5DOT’s 10 meter dipole adventure

On 6/28/2016 a group of elmer’s from the group pack up there gear and headed out to Andrew’s (KC5DOT) in attempt to make a 10 meter wire dipole. Gary (KA9ZYL) was the first to arrive. WIRES-X Node for Fusion (C4FM) radios

Wires-x operates in a similar fashion to EchoLink or IRPL. You can connect to different rooms and chat around the world. One main difference is you must use a HRI-200 interface and with wires-x and a fusion radio you can access voice memos, text messages and photos.
